THE SUNSET
Oh, the sun is setting down
Almost with a sigh,
Whereto goes that lonely boat
with its sails held so high?
The sky looks like a sheet of gold
As if sizzling in the flames,
Oh,how this sunset seems similar
To one on my own 'Thames'!
Oh,silly me,this heavenly scene
Is for you and me and everyone,
And it gives us a promise that tomorrow
There'll be sunrise on the horizon!
Let us salute the setting sun and gratefully say,
"Thank you,God, for this beauty and thank you for this day!

ReplyDeleteI love the feel of the gentle whisper of the wind as it says, Oh, the sun is setting down, almost with a sigh, Whereto goes that lonely boat with its sails held so high? Even with the golden light starting to diminish, I can feel the coolness in the air as the twighlight sets in...gazing into the first light of stars...and yes promising the sunrise on the horizon. You bring the smells, sights and sounds of a "Sunset to Life'''the wonder of the end of a day...with hope for the beginning of a new tomorro all in one Poem...beatutiful...a Song at the End of Day....
